The Center for Dissemination and Implementation invites doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior and established faculty from other universities and research institutes to apply for the inaugural Annual D&I Science Institute, October 28-30 at WashU. The program is for those who wish to deepen their understanding of implementation science and receive personalized advice on pending research proposals from D&I experts.
The application deadline is July 31.
Professor, Allison King, MD, the Fred M. Saigh Distinguished Chair in Pediatric Research and center associate director will co-lead the October institute. She talked about participant benefits. “We are excited to fill a gap in short course opportunities to learn more about the application of implementation science methods,” King said. “One of the unique aspects of our institute is the opportunity to receive personalized consultation on the attendee’s proposal. Participants will engage in active learning and interact with experts who can help the participant apply the concepts to their own project.”
Participants can expect to gain knowledge and skills to address the challenges and complexities of implementing evidence-based interventions in diverse settings. The institute aims to enhance future research endeavors, foster collaborative projects, and contribute to the collective advancement of implementation science.
Days one and two will include interactive workshops, mentoring pods, and panel discussions. Day three will include the D&I Proposal Development Bootcamp, an intensive day of tailored consultations aimed at advancing dissemination & implementation grant proposals from idea to draft. Participants will consult with D&I experts, network, and attend the distinguished annual Enola Proctor Lecture.
Institute topics include:
- Implementation Science (IS) Fundamentals and how it has Evolved
- Implementation Strategies: Designing, Tailoring, and Reporting
- Frameworks in IS
