Assistant Professor, Philip Marotta‘s research has benefitted from grant funding and other resources from the Center for Dissemination & Implementation, and its initiative, IDDI (Infectious Disease – Dissemination and Implementation Science Initiative). In its second year, IDDI cultivates implementation science research in infectious disease to improve evidence-based prevention and treatment of infectious diseases in St. Louis and beyond.
Network Analysis Useful in Real-World Applications for Practitioners, Study Finds (Links to an external site)
A network survey among agencies that address cancer risk in rural Missouri and Illinois, conducted by the Brown School and School of Medicine’s Implementation Science Center for Cancer Control, was found to be useful in helping those practitioners identify gaps, plan for how to establish future relationships and strengthen collaboration.

D&I Science Aids Researchers Studying Perioperative Mental Health (Links to an external site)
The newly NIH-funded Center for Perioperative Mental Health at Washington University has incorporating D&I-science into its proposed approaches. The principal investigators, Drs. Eric Lenze and Michael Avidan and a transdisciplinary team recently opened the new WashU center, the first-ever to focus on urgent mental health issues-such as depression-associated with older adults in the perioperative period.
